Does the law still say what your approval cites?
A control mapping cites a legal text. Months later the question is not what the mapping says, but whether the text still says it.
Pinning a citation to one version is what makes it checkable — and it is also what lets a register go quietly stale, because a pin never notices that the law moved. This page is the mechanism against that, open to operate. Change a cited version below, or take the source offline, and watch what the record says then.
A finding from the first run
The Machinery Regulation has carried a new consolidated version since 27.07.2026 — the same date as the AI Act. Anyone who cited it in January 2026 has been citing a superseded text ever since, without noticing.
A matching date alone proves no common cause. So it was asked: the Publications Office reports amending acts 32024R2748 and 32026R1744 for the Machinery Regulation, and 32026R1744 for the AI Act. The Digital Omnibus did touch both. The tool shows that a newer version exists; what caused it is a second question — confusing the two sells a guess as a finding.

The worked case: a machinery manufacturer with AI in a safety function, EU market. Ten acts, each with a sentence saying what in the business brings it into scope. A list of acts with no reason per act is a list, not a selection — and the selection is what somebody ends up relying on.

Where a safety component stays under the manufacturer's control after being placed on the market — through updates or continued learning — responsibility does not end at delivery. To be transposed by 09.12.2026. Liability still requires a defect, damage and causation — the entry moves the question, it does not answer it.

The scope block is part of the record, not a footnote — a monthly report that says nothing is read as "nothing changed", and that reading is only defensible if the record says where it did not look.

The omissions
What was deliberately left out
A register that cannot name its exclusions is indistinguishable, to a reader, from an incomplete one: an act that was considered and dropped looks exactly like one nobody thought of. An exclusion is never version-checked — and nothing re-checks whether its reason still holds.

And back to step 1. A finding changes the register: a delegated act appears, a product goes to consumers for the first time, a line is built for explosive atmospheres. That return path is the service — the query alone would be a tool.
